I Found Something! / [M / F] Igam Ogam - Bless You (English)
« on: November 24, 2021, 08:25:42 AM »
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sBZHxpu0vi8 I finally remembered to search for this one in English. :) Maybe there's a language other than English and German but ( https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00ytksh ) shrugs.

It's basically just that same scene over and over again, but it is rather amusing / cute in its own way.
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x6pp9wx

Second one is a bit different,
https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7poh4w
The first two scenes weren't that good, but the scene at 20:20 is a lot better.

"Nanny has promised Little Brown Bear and Big Red Bear that they can stargaze, but when she has an allergy attack, the children have an idea!"

Shrug. Tried VPN hopping but I couldn't find the show anywhere. If any of our UK/Europe audience wants to give it a try, let us know.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1swtP18fohg Found it on Youtube! :) A bit challenging since I didn't know the French episode name but I lucked out.

0:44 (offscreen), 0:53 (long), 2:53 (x3), 5:20 (1 then 1 offscreen)

Hatchimals: Adventures in Hatchtopia - A Whole New World (Available on Netflix in US)

https://vlipsy.com/vlip/hatchimals-sneeze-bBRwgyHz Here's one of them, but there's another after that.

Puppit - 1:20, 2:10 - Flowers -- Small chance of more later in the series, I guess. The episodes are only 3 minutes each so I guess I can watch through it. :) But nothing yet...

Looks like this one also got cut off. I checked in forum settings and it doesn't SHOW there's a maximum character limit on posts, but there may be something there that caps it out. I would try to slice each post at around 50,000 characters or so. (There's a 20 second cooldown on posting if you want to avoid any errors regarding post speed.)

Still, thank you for sharing. One thing that might be helpful is including a character summary at the start. Character name, species, background, etc. On longer stories, especially in an environment where it's hard to get invested, stuff like that goes a long way.

Hey. Thanks for submitting such a lengthy story. :3 I went ahead and edited a bit of the double-spacing since it doesn't translate well onto a forum. I may have removed a few intentional scene transition breaks, so consider looking back over it. I don't have the time to read the whole thing right now, but I can feel the care you put into it. :)

The link included here didn't seem to work, so I removed it. Also, you reached the character limit so the ending got cut off. Aside from that, strong punctuation and capitalization consistency/usage, for the most part. I did notice a few usage typos like a Your that should have been a You're and a Were that should have been a Where. Those tend to be among the hardest to catch since they aren't just spelling errors.

The only other writing advice I'd give from just the basic skim is to focus more on descriptive words that outline the senses. What are we seeing, what are we smelling, what do we feel with our hands or bodies. Getting lost in the senses is a big part of what writing can do that visual media often can't. Something to keep in mind for next time. :)

Thanks again for sharing. :3

I Found Something! / [F] Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf - Episode 36
« on: November 21, 2021, 01:28:42 AM »
Korean: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EvNzr_5UUE
English: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jr4plZuKuOY

It's not well-animated but it's a little over the top. No build-ups but lots of sneezes. 4 minutes then sporadically until the end: "In Pleasant Goat and Big Big Wolf: Mighty Little Defenders episode 36, Wolnie is allergic to dogs, which causes problems since her husband Wolffy has been turned into a dog and can't go near her without causing her to sneeze."

https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/PlotAllergy
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SneezeOfDoom

Browsing those sites occasionally can yield strange results. This was just the first find I made. Maybe there's others to be discovered.

Here's a bonus: https://youtu.be/VqOXE9_s5a4?t=153 Sometimes you can also find stuff by checking series pages in detail so... who knows. :P

I agree, wouldn't that be more 'snot loving'? Doesn't seem right. XD I wonder how much different the web would be if we had gotten a few more years of independence from big companies and commercialism. I feel that ways of thinking such as this are such a niche thing that we can't manage to congregate to dwell on these things any more. :P

Video Games & Television / "Dogs in Space" - Netflix, 2021
« on: November 19, 2021, 03:46:03 AM »
This strange little show just popped on Netflix today. I've seen one episode so far and it reminds me of a strange mix between Road Rovers and Star Trek. The art style is a little simple, but what isn't these days. So far I can certainly recommend it. If anyone else watches it, share your thoughts. I don't get too many chances to talk about these things.

So, sternutaphobia is the fear of sneezing, so then would attraction to sneezing be sternutaphilia? Apparently someone asked a long time back on the old blue forum. Someone else said that maybe "ptaerophilia" would be more appropriate. Still, it was funny to find something that Google yielded zero search results on.

Hands. Are. DIFFICULT. He seems to have fun with them, though. Looks like he had a lot of fun with background stuff too. :3

Stupid question but... at what point was Maxie blue? I don't remember that in the games backwhen. Hm.

Another one-hour sketch commission from a different artist. The first two panels may not be sneeze related but they are my favorite. :)

Oh. Hey guys. Look. I did an update! A real update!! It took me like, an hour or so to figure all this stuff out and I'm still not entirely sure I got it to work right, but I'm trying!!! :P

Meta aside...

Profile fields for AIM / Yahoo / MSN have been retired and disabled. While there may be people out there who actually use them for contacting a few people, they have become glitchy and problematic as well as being a rather strange thing to ask about on registration. As such, they no longer exist. Skype's still there though.

In addition, I added in a field for Discord ID! There's no "Add this person" type hyperlink command for Discord, as far as I know. You can do that for servers but not for people. So instead, I'm having it display the text so you can copy it. How so? Look left! I'll leave the test I did in my profile for a little while so you can see how it looks with Skype and Discord there. I even added an extra space so that it's easy to copy!

Other tweaks include a bit of clarification on Fursona and a reduction of the number of allowed characters for that field. It's equivalent to 'favorite animal', guys. :P Keep it simple, okay? Aside from that, I did a bit of re-ordering with the other fields but nothing major.

I'll refrain from sending out a site-wide notification email for this, but if you are friends with anyone who visits casually that you talk to on Discord, let them know it's now something you can add into your profile here.

Hey hey. Welcome. :) Due to a bug you'll probably want to go and adjust/edit your profile. Some of the info was lost during the sign-up process.

Art, Art, and Art! / Re: [N] Vulpix's Big Firey Sneeze
« on: November 16, 2021, 04:30:54 AM »
Oh definitely. I'm just using Photoshop. Can easily re-quadruple the scale to what it was before (or larger) but I haven't because it's easier to work with at actual pixel size.

There's some fun details in this that I didn't notice before. The floppy ears are semi-obvious (and cute on the pullback parts) but there's also a little squeeze of the raised paw that's really hard to see but really cute. I just wonder what parts I can isolate and reuse elsewhere. Such as the various eye shapes. I can probably manipulate those thanks to the blink. /ramble

I have to find the time to be motivated for it again, though. The reply helps. :)

I'm starting a deconstruction on this. Got it in PSD form, all 84 frames. Now I'm cleaning up the background, isolating the character and such. I am considering removing the reflection and wanted to get some input. Without the reflection, it could take more background colors than the default. Might also heavily reduce some of my workload. Might also INCREASE the workload depending on how I handle the flame stuff. (Ugh, I wish I could get the RAW from the guy. :P)

Any input on that? What would people like to see? Character with flexible background or default background with reflective? Also, removing the text part of the animation. It's likely to get in the way in the future regardless.

Edit: In progress attached.

Edit2: And done! Seems it took me about two and a half hours, maybe three total? I've come to understand the animation is a 14-frame, one-second loop, with modifications to segmented parts of it. So that means the tail is a constant loop allowing me to separate it fully from the rest of the animation. From there, after I isolate and loop the tail, I'm going to start thinking about how to add in new edits. I have a few ideas, though of course I have very little artistic skill so it'll all be copy-paste type approaches. (I may also try pulling in the pepper shaker from Wolfie and see how it looks) --- But, that's all for another day. I'll be stopping here and returning next time I get motivation.

Edit3: All these views and no comments about it. Aww. BTW I'll be making the project larger in the future, but it's much easier to work with at actual-pixel size. For whatever reason, enlarging such a gif doesn't keep the crispness. It makes it blurry. So I have to keep that in mind.

General Chatter / Re: Sneeze Fetish Origins
« on: November 01, 2021, 11:26:38 PM »
(Edited the topic a bit since it's a fine topic, but was originally off-topic for the I Found Something area. :3 )

For me, it was a Dumbo audio cassette tape. No idea if there's a single one of them remaining out there, or what information there was beyond that, but I would rewind that part quite a lot for my very young age. Content like Sneezer and Scooby didn't hurt things either, or the Tom and Jerry elephant scene.

It turned out pretty good. :3 Definitely good in terms of yield for one hour of art. The choo parts have cute faces, and overall it was pleasant working with him. Also included the bonus warm-up stuff.

http://furaffinity.net/user/TestPattern/

I would definitely recommend him for others to commission. He probably draws males better than females. Something to keep in mind.

Well it's not like anyone has had free time for the last 5 years or so. I mean, I know I haven't, and I'm the king of free time to begin with. Not sure how others cope. :P
